Producer · Director · Storyteller
I create premium stories across documentary, music, sports, culture, podcasts, social video, and live experiences — translating ideas into content people actually care about.
Born in Puerto Rico, based between New York City and San Juan — Alejandro De Jesus Miranda is a producer and director with 10+ years of experience building content that lives at the intersection of culture, emotion, and craft. His career spans some of the most respected names in media: Complex Networks, ESPN, Amazon Music, ON Running, the NBA, and independent creative productions on both sides of the Atlantic seaboard.
As Senior Producer at Complex Networks from 2017 to 2025, Alejandro led production on Sneaker Shopping, Full Size Run, What's in the Back?, and a slate of Latin-focused content and live podcast tapings. Before that, early-career work on ESPN's Academy Award–winning O.J.: Made in America gave him a foundational education in premium long-form documentary storytelling.
His approach is end-to-end — from story concept and talent coordination to field production, editorial shaping, and social-first distribution. He's equally comfortable in a broadcast truck, a podcast studio, or in a car with a camera rolling on Bad Bunny.

Documentary / Interview Format · Director & Producer
Rather than placing one of the world's biggest artists across a desk, Pull Up reimagined the celebrity interview as a moving, documentary-style experience. Alejandro directed and produced a format that followed Bad Bunny through environments that felt personal — letting the conversation breathe and the subject reveal himself on his own terms.
The format relied on a mobile camera grammar, intimate framing, and a deliberate editorial rhythm. Instead of Q&A, the interview became a film. Topics moved through Puerto Rican identity, the weight of cultural representation, and the relationship between music and memory — all captured with documentary authenticity.
Director / Producer — concept through delivery
A cross-section of work spanning branded documentary, premium digital video, podcast production, live sports, and cultural storytelling.
Documentary · Brand Storytelling · Director/Producer
Two documentary-style branded films exploring movement, identity, and performance. Built with cinematic structure rather than traditional advertising grammar — emotional, unhurried, and deeply human.
Premium Digital Video · Senior Producer
Produced one of digital media's most iconic interview formats — a hybrid of celebrity access, sneaker culture, and sharp editorial instinct. Coordinated A-list talent logistics, maintained fast-turn production cadence, and helped evolve the format's visual identity over multiple seasons.
Podcast / Video Talk Format · Senior Producer
Weekly sneaker culture talk show that fused sports commentary, fashion criticism, and cultural conversation. Alejandro built and managed the full production infrastructure — run of show, guest coordination, live audience engagement, and social clipping strategy.
Documentary Interview / Walk-and-Talk · Producer
A format built around physical memory — guiding subjects through their archives to unlock stories that seated interviews never reach. The result was intimate, surprising, and consistently human. A format that prioritized revelation over performance.

ESPN 30 for 30 · Production Assistant
An early-career immersion in the highest tier of long-form documentary filmmaking. O.J.: Made in America went on to win the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature — and the experience of being inside that production left a lasting imprint on how Alejandro thinks about story structure, archival research, and the weight of subject matter.
This was the foundation. Everything since has been built on that standard.

Local Producer / Fixer · Sports & Cultural Content
Produced Puerto Rico–based basketball storytelling around the NBA's presence on the island, working with players including Joakim Noah and Walter Hodge Jr. Fast-turn field production in dynamic environments, balancing logistical complexity with authentic cultural storytelling. A reminder that the best sports content is always about more than the game.
Alejandro has built, produced, and evolved podcast formats across studio, live-event, and hybrid environments — with a consistent focus on editorial quality, guest experience, and cross-platform distribution.
Weekly video-first sneaker culture podcast. Full production ownership including run of show, guest coordination, and live audience management.
Audio-first format with editorial depth. Guest booking, interview development, and post-production oversight across weekly releases.
Produced live podcast recordings in front of festival audiences — managing broadcast logistics, stage production, and real-time editorial decisions.
Developed clip-first distribution thinking for podcast content — identifying moments, building formats, and maximizing platform reach from each episode.
A decade-long arc from documentary foundations to senior-level creative leadership — and now, independent work built on that entire body of experience.

"Story first."
The best content doesn't just look good — it makes people feel something. Whether documentary, social, podcasts, or live storytelling, I'm interested in stories that connect culture, emotion, and audience. The craft matters. The execution matters. But the story is always where it begins.
I've spent a decade working at the intersection of premium media and cultural fluency — producing formats that earn attention rather than buying it. From a moving car in Puerto Rico to a live broadcast stage at ComplexCon, the question is always the same: what does this story actually mean to the person watching it?
